These
are photos from the a backpacking trip Sherry and I took in the Sierras
in August 2004.
We
were out on the trail for 6 days, 5 nights between Devils Postpile National
Monument and Yosemite National Park. This trip was a continuation of
our following Steve Roper's cross country (non-trail) route. The route
is described in High Sierra Route: Traversing Timberline Country.*
His route goes from Cedar Grove in Kings to Twin Lakes north of Yosemite.
It parallels the John Muir Trail, but is higher, less forested, and
less crowded. Sherry and I have been doing sections of this route for
almost 20 years and have completed about 75% of it.
The
photos are in divided into index pages with 10 photos to a page. Thumbnail
images are shown on each album page. Clicking on any individual thumbnail
image will cause the corresponding full size image to appear.
Each
page--album pages and individual images--have buttons for "back", "home",
and "next".
Clicking
on the back or next buttons when viewing an album page will take you
to the previous or next album page, so this is a quick way of browsing
through the photos. Clicking on the home button will bring you back
to this page. Scroll down or click here to see
the index of album pages.
To
browse through individual pages, viewing the photos one at a time in
a larger size, you can click here to start
at the beginning, or go to any album page by selecting it from below
and then clicking on any of the images. Clicking on the back or next
buttons when viewing an individual image will take you to the previous
or next image. Clicking on the home button will take you to the album
page for that image.
