This is the older Protestant church (1717). It
is one of the last five well-preserved churches built in Central Europe
under the strict conditions required by the Sopron diet. Protestants were
permitted to build their churches only at specific sites outside the urban
walls, and they had to be built only with the local parish contributions.
Consequently, they were build of the lease expensive materials, generally
wood. In this church, even the nails are wood. |
